Biographical / Historical
Earl Bauch was born in 1950 in Vienna, Austria. He volunteered for the United States Army in 1968. Bauch served for twenty-one years including one year in Southeast Asia. He was assigned to Staff Aviation at Fort Ord from 1969 to 1970, then 1st Cavalry in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971, and D SIT at Fort Rucker from 1971 to 1972. He was also stationed at Fort Polk and Fort Wolters. During the Vietnam war Bauch held the positions of helicopter pilot and Assistant Operations Officer as a Warrant Officer One and Chief Warrant Officer Two. For his service Bauch received various awards including a Distinguished Flying Cross, a Purple Heart, and an Air medal. In 1989 Bauch discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. After his service he became a loan officer, a design draftsman, a doc control officer, an assistant manager at Walmart, and completed sign work.
