Biographical / Historical
Jeff Murray was born in Lexington, VA in 1947. He volunteered for the United States Army in 1967 and served a total of twenty years including one year in Southeast Asia. From 1968 to 1969 Murray was assigned to the 281st Assault Helicopter Company. He was stationed in Nha Trang, Vietnam and held the positions of 100 – B Helicopter Pilot, Fire Team Leader, and Aircraft Commander for Wolf Pack 33 as a WO-1 and CW-2. Murray participated in Project Delta Cass Power and Trojan Horse in 1969. He received multiple awards during his service including a bronze star and an air medal. Murray retired in 1990 as a Major. He belongs to the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the 281st Attack Helicopter Association. After his service in Vietnam Murray returned to College at Texas A&M University and then completed his military service as a commissioned officer. He then went on to spend twenty-eight years with the Bank of America and as a Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor.
