Scope and Contents
Three 8 mm reels. One described by Phillip Hay as being of base camp, Bear Paw, and helicopter flights, one that is primarily of a flight over Saigon airport and a helicopter landing on a naval vessel, and one of helicopter missions and the capture of prisoners and weapons.
Biographical / Historical
Phillip Hay was born in 1949 in Wichita, Kansas. He volunteered for the Army in 1968 and served for twelve years, with two years in Southeast Asia. He served as the Crew chief of 67 Bravo as an E4 and E5 and was stationed at Bear Cat and Cu Chi. He was a part of Tet 1969. While in Vietnam he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Medal, the Air Medal with Valor, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Valor. He was discharged in 1978 at the rank ofSergeant E-5. After his service he went to college.
