Scope and Contents
Approximately 3 linear feet of materials documenting Warrant Officer Bryan England's service as a helicopter pilot with F Troop, 8th Cavalry, 23rd Infantry Americal Division in Vietnam. The materials include artifacts; yearbooks; a high school writing project inspired by England; photographs; a post card; a primary helicopter school flight training manual; and electronic media. The materials are dated 1967-1970 and 1998-1999.
Biographical / Historical
Otis Bryan England was born January 28th, 1949, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He volunteered for the United States Army in 1967 and served a total of six years including one year in Southeast Asia as a Helicopter Pilot with F Troop 8th Cavalry “Blue Ghost” in Chu Lai, Vietnam. England was also stationed at Ft. Wolters and the U.S. Army Flight Training Center in Georgia. During his service he held the rank of Warrant Officer and received various awards including a bronze star, a good conduct ribbon, and an air medal. In 1973 England was discharged as a Captain.

After his service England joined the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and worked as a night guard while attending college. He earned a master’s in history at the University of Texas, Arlington. He then worked as a civil servant for the Department of Energy and Homeland Security.
