The collection consists of slides documenting Chief Warrant Officer 2 James Stephen Mabrey's U.S. Army service as a rotary wing pilot with B Troop, 3/17 Air Cavalry stationed at Di An from 1967-1968.
Biographical / Historical
Chief Warrant Officer 2 James Stephen Mabrey was born October 26, 1942 in Tulsa, OK. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He served as a rotary wing pilot with B Troop, 3/17 Air Cavalry stationed at Di An. He participated in the response to the Tet Offensive of 1968. He received numerous awards including the Air Medal and the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in December 1969 at the rank of CWO-2. After his military service, he worked as a Special Agent for the U.S. government. He died October 26, 2018.
