Scope and Contents

The collection consists of approximately half of a linear foot of documents donated to the archive by Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Paris. The collection is primarily made of newspaper clippings featuring stories about the Vietnam War from 1971 through 1972. Some of the clippings are from troop or military newspapers like the Pacific Stars and Stripes and others are from U.S. newspapers. The clippings are arranged by date and many of them feature stories about the Easter Offensive in 1972. Also included are battle formations and troop movements for the 1972 Easter Offensive.

Biographical / Historical

Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth G. Paris was born in North Dakota. He volunteered for the U.S. Army and served with the Army Security Agency for 23 years. During the Vietnam War, he served as an advisor to the South Vietnamese Army and G2 Advisor for ARVN General Hoang Xuan Lam. He was stationed at Quang Tri, Danang, Saigon, and Hue. He was involved in the Easter Offensive of 1972. He received numerous awards including the South Vietnamese Medal of Honor. He retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After his military service, he worked in real estate in Fairfax County, VA.
