The collection consists of slides and personal narratives documenting Lieutenant James Edward Giles III's U.S. Navy service as Damage Control Assistant aboard the USS Rainier (January 1968 – July 1969), as an engineer aboard the USS Luzerne County and the USS Page County, and as Commanding Officer of the USS Stone County (July 1969 to August 1970). Also included is an oral history conducted with Lt. Giles.
