Scope and Contents
The collection consists of approximately half of a linear foot of correspondence and a clipping donated by George Losoncy. He sent letters to his mother, brother and a friend during his service with the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing at Da Nang Airbase from April 1968 to 1969.Biographical / Historical
Staff Sergeant George Losoncy was born in 1947 in West Reading, PA. He volunteered for the U.S. Air Force in 1966. He served as an Air Transportation Supervisor with the 60th Military Airlift Wing at Travis AFB (August 1966 - April 1968), the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing at Danang Air Base (April 1968 - April 1969), and the 436th Military Airlift Wing at Dover AFB (April 1969 - August 1970). He was involved in the Tet Offensive of 1968. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
