Scope and Contents
The collection consists of negatives and slides related to Keith Holmes' service in Vietnam as NCOIC of the Veterinary Department of the 9th Medical Laboratory (Saigon), 1966-1967.
Biographical / Historical
Keith M. Holmes was born 3 July 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He was drafted 8 November 1965 and enlisted 5 days later with the U.S. Army to go to school to be a Basic Medical Laboratory Technician. In 1966-1967 he was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. In 1967-1968 he served 13 months in Vietnam with the 9th Medical Laboratory (Saigon) as NCOIC of the Veterinary Department, supervising staff and testing dogs and other animals for rabies. He was honorably discharged in August 1968.

Following his military service, he earned an MA in Vocational rehabilitation counseling and worked for the State of Kansas. After retirement, he established a business, A+ Presentations, and volunteered.
