Biographical / Historical
Raymond Legel was born August 4, 1947 in Waverly, IA. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He served as a mechanic with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam. After his military service, he did factory work and shoed horses, eventually becoming inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame. He died July 26, 2025.
