Scope and Contents
Less than one linear foot of correspondence, newspaper articles, and other documents detail the service of First Lieutenant Richard E. Jaeck and information on the Richard Jaeck Scholarship Fund at Cudahy High School in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Materials date primarily from the war era and were donated by Timothy Staats in honor of Richard Jaeck's life and service.
Biographical / Historical
First Lieutenant Richard E. Jaeck was killed while flying a reconnaissance aircraft mission near Nha Trang, Vietnam on 14 March 1964. He was the first O1 aviator killed in Vietnam. He received the Silver Star (posthumously) and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
