Scope and Contents

One folder of photocopied photographs, medical statements, police case reports, correspondence and comic strips document James Benson's service with the 1st Marine Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam, 1965-1967. Dates of documents range from 1966 through 1996. Document of note is a comic strip from National Lampoon entitled ^D'If World War II Had Been Fought Like the War in Vietnam^D>'.

Biographical / Historical

James W. Benson of Lubbock, Texas joined the United States Marine Corps in 1960. Sergeant Benson served with the 1st Marine Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam from 1965-1967.
