Less than one linear foot of photocopies of official and personal documents detail Lt. Colonel Hay-Chapman's service in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Civil Air Patrol.
Biographical / Historical
Lt. Colonel Hay-Chapman volunteered for service as an Aviation Cadet November 1942. He graduated as a 2LT, Fighter Pilot 6 Sept 1944. He completed Pilot Instructor School December 1944. He served in Korea Nov 1951-Nov 1952. He was stationed in Germany 1956-1959 with the 501st TAC Cont Op. In 1959 he was assigned to USAF Helicopter School Stead AFB, Nevada where he logged 2000 hours as helicopter instructor and Section Commander. He served as Commander of 315th Air Commando Group-Special Aerial Spray Detachment. In November 1965 he was assigned as Nevada Wing CAP as USAF Liaison Officer. He retired in November 1970.
