Biographical / Historical
Established in 1988, the Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust serves as an advisory group for the Congressional Black Caucus and other members of Congress on legislative issues related to veterans benefits and services. The braintrust has been involved in the creation and implementation of several pieces of federal legislation, including the Comprehensive Homeless Veterans Act (PL 103-584), which expanded services and benefits for homeless veterans and established grant programs for community based homeless aid agencies.
