Scope and Contents
Pool cue and case purchased in Vietnam in 1969, two reel to reel tapes of a Sergeant in Chu Lai (circa 1968-1969), and a Vietnamese conical hat.
Biographical / Historical
Charles Scarborough was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1944. In 1967, he was drafted into the United States Army, in which he served a total of nineteen months, fourteen of which were served in Southeast Asia. While in Vietnam, Scarborough served with Americal at Chu Lai from February 1968 thorough April 1969 ranked as a Specialist 4 and Specialist 5 as a Sergeant. In 1969, Scarborough was discharged as a Sergeant E-5. After his service, he worked for Texas Instruments for 18 years and sold Farm Bureau Insurance to farms and farm-related equipment. He is not involved in any Vietnam Veteran Associations or the Oral History program at the Vietnam Archive at Texas Tech University.
