Scope and Contents
One linear foot of slides, artifacts, periodicals, microfilm, CD-ROM, articles, and ephemera have been collected by Dr. James Reckner and donated to the Vietnam Archive. Included in the collection is a certificate of recognition from the Society of Counterparts; five Vietnamese military medals purchased by Dr. Reckner in Ho Chi Minh City in 2001; a Pocket Guide to Japan; Ho Chi Minh postcards; microfilm reels from 1874-1944 documenting Dr. Reckner's United States Naval history research; articles compiled by the University of Denver for a United States-Vietnam Conference in 1995 in which Reckner participated.
Biographical / Historical
James Reckner was formerly the Director of the Vietnam Center. He became the Director of the Institute of Modern Conflict, Diplomacy and Reconciliation in September 2007. He retired at the end of December 2008.
