Scope and Contents
The collection consists of books, documents (after action reports, memos, manuals, Vietnam Memorial Wall rubbings, event programs, articles/clippings/excerpts, flyers/pamphlets), photographs, slides, electronic media, audio records, periodicals, comic books, currency, stamps, maps, and ephemera documenting Frank Greco's tour of duty in Vietnam with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observation Group Command and Control Central (MACV/SOG-CCC) from 1969 to 1970. The materials are dated predominately 1964-1970, 1985-1990, 1999-2006, and 2010.Biographical / Historical
Frank Greco served with the Special Operations Group. Mr. Greco volunteered for and was assigned to MACV/SOG-CCC in Kontum in April 1969. At this time, SOG changed its name to Special Operations Augmentation (SOA) because the acronym SOG was getting to much attention in the media. He was assigned to Recon Team (R/T) Colorado whose team leader (One Zero) and ran missions with RT Colorado until December 1969 when he opted to become the NCOIC of the photo lab, which he ran from December 1969 through April 1970.- 1
