[Number of Pages: 0]
Winner of five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor (Christopher Walken), this critically acclaimed, extraordinarily powerful motion picture tracks a group of steel worker pals from a Pennsylvania blast furnace to the cool hunting grounds of the Alleghenies to the lethal cauldron of Vietnam. Robert DeNiro gives an outstanding perfromance as Michael, the natural leader of the group. The Deer Hunter is a searing drama of friendship and courage, and what happens to these qualities under stress; it is a shattering emotional experience you will never forget.

Manic comedian Robin Williams shakes up 1965 Siagon in the Academy Award nominated role the critics agree he was born to play -- irreverent, non-conformist, deejay Adrian Cronauer. Imported by the Army for an early a.m. radio show, Cronauer blast the formerly staid, sanitized airwaves with a constant barrage of rapid-fire humor and the hottest hits from back home. The G.I.s love him -- but the brass is up in arms! Riddled with side splitting comic bombshells and studded with hot '60s hits, the film depicts Cronauer's rauccos Saigon adventures amid a world gone mad.

John Wayne stars in and co directs ths unabashedly red-white-and-blue depiction of America's Vietnam War Effort, his most forceful film statement ever on the nature of duty and courage during times of political uncertainties. Wayne personally wrote President Lyndon Johnson to request Pentagon assistance in filming and received all the military hardware--and then some--needed to create an impressive spectacle. Particularly dramatic is a long night battle in which the Special Forces camp is overrun by the enemy, then retaken. The ever-shifting perimeter, the mind-wracking cacaphony of explosion after explosion, the difficulty in distinguishing between friend and foe, and the nearly futile attempts at command communications during the chaos of battle vividly symbolize the war as it really was.

[Number of Pages: 0]
Vietnam, 1969, Hill 937, 10 days, 70% casualties. Those are the facts--this is the story. The men of Bravo Company are facing a battle that's all up-hill...up Hamburger Hill. 14 war-weary soliders are battling for a mud-covered mound of earth so name because it chews up soliders like chopped meat. They are fighting for their country , their fellow soliders and their lives. War is hell, but this is worse. Hamburger Hill tells it the way it was, the way it really was. It's raw, gritty and totally unrelenting dramatic depiction of one of the fiercest battles of America's bloodiest war. Dodge the gunfire. Get caught up behind enemy lines. Go into battle beside the brave young men who fought and died. Feel their desperation and gutility. This happened. Hamburger Hill--war at its worst, men at their best.
