This is the city of Seoul today, a metropolis of 3,770,000 persons. Business buildings twelve or more stories high have replaced the typical two and three-story buildings of the 1950's. So congested has the present city become that the Mayor of the Special City of Seoul already has drafted plans for a 'New Seoul City' in a new location in his long-range planning program. 18 November 1970 Subject: Off Duty Recreation, The Craft Shop Location: An interview with Mrs. Donna Moore, the Crafts Director at Fort Shafter. Mrs. Moore discusses the various facilities included in the shop, which are a multiple craft facility, a wood shop, photo lab and an automotive repair shop. In the multiple craft shop are facilities for pottery, leatherwork, making jewelry and candle making. The most popular crafts among military personnel are photography, the wood shop and the automotive shop. The craft shop has a varying patronage depending on the season, but the busiest season is just before Christmas, and seasonal workshops are offered during this and other busy seasons. The craft shop is open every day except Monday and offers programs for all military personnel and their dependents. Mrs. Moore discusses the tools available within some of the shops, and also the future plans the craft shop personnel have made. The shop is under the Special Services Recreation Department. The shop offers a variety of classes and programs, among which pottery and surfboard building are very popular.
