CHU LAI, Vietnam (Americal IO)--After the initial stops of constructing a Bailey Bridge have been taken, construction moves ahead quickly as men of the Americal Division's 26th Engineer Battalion unload double sections of bridge with the help of a truck-mounted crane. The bridge was constructed to repair a bridge near An Tan village partially destroyed by Viet Cong sappers.

LZ Hawk Hill, Vietnam (Americal IO)--The lead trucks arrive in Tien Phuoc. This vehicle was part of the first convoy to go from Tam Ky to Tien Phuoc in seven months. The convoy, which reached its destination without incident, was secured by: elements of the 5th Regiment, 2nd ARVN Division; soldiers of 196th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division and Vietnames Forces.

The twin engine plane is capable of speeds in the 250mph range and is armed with both high explosives and white smoke rockets which enable Forward Air Controllers (FAC) to mark targets for jet bombers. This 'Bronco' flies for the Americal Division.
