ARMY COOK AT KHAM DUC, VIETNAM
The mess hall was a large tent with open-air seating. This photograph of the potato peeler has always been one of my favorite non-combatant pictures, capturing the tedium of army life in the combat zone. Soldiers talked about life in Vietnam as, 'Days of sheer boredom, interrupted by seconds of sheer terror.'
Name of this soldier is unknown.
