From hidden tunnels deep in the jungle, the Viet Cong launched operations that were terrifying in their ingenuity, savagery, and persistence. The ten-day battle for the place which would eventually become known as Hamburger Hill was perhaps one of the defining moments of the Vietnam War. Piecing together newly disclosed stories from both sides, DECLASSIFIED examines how American commanders made the mistake of fighting this battle with similar tactics they had used during WWII, and how the Viet Cong was able to hold off American troops without having anywhere near the manpower or artillery of the U.S. Army.

Rebellion, riots, rock 'n roll, assassination, interrogation, and a new generation questioning the Establishment. It was 1968, and 'baby boomers' fought the system that nurtured them, challenging everything from foreign policy to music to personal style. Less materialistic and more idealistic, they didn't want their parents' world--they wanted to create their own. In Young Blood, see how youth rebellion became a potent social and political force. Footage and interviews from then and now reveal how America learned that ordinary people have the power and the right to challenge authority and change the world.

Vietnam: The Memory

[Number of Pages: 0]
Much is known about the fate and war traumas of Americans who fought in Vietnam. This documentary gives attention to the social fate of Vietnmese Veterans. According to official memory, as the state woul like to have it , many millions sacrificed themselves in order for the fatherland to be free. The memory of the war is suppressed by the raging speed of Vietnam's reform into a wild west economy under a communist regime. The communism which was fought for, and consequently the memory of the war as well, certainly is no longer a guiding thread of life for the youth, yet it is their future-belief. In this film veterans are heard to speak who suffer from the effects of herbacide Agent Orange, which was sprayed by Americans in Vietnam. Just recently came to be known that many more millions of liters of Dioxin had been used that was first believed. There are roughly 1 million victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam, often these included the children and grandchildren of soldiers who were severely handicapped. The ex-soldiers talk about te consequneces of the war upon their personal existence and about the way they commemorate their fallen comrades.
