Slides and photographs document Roy E. Moffett's service in the United States Armed forces and Intelligence Service in Southeast Asia in the 1950s and 1960s. The collection also includes a 1959 Congressional Report on USAID Operations in Laos and a MAAG Laos shoulder patch.

The collection also includes approximately half a linear foot of documents and photographs documenting Roy Moffett's service in Vientiane and Pakse. The photographs largely depict the training of local soldiers by Moffett and members of the U.S. Military Assistance Advisory Group. The documents include event invitations; clippings; Laotian vehicle registration form; articles; certificates; notification of personnel action; correspondence; USAID travel forms; proposal to support General Phasouk in the fight against the Pathet Lao; expansion possibilities in the IV MR; and a paper outlining work being done in the IV MR of Laos. The materials are dated 1959-1965 and 1970.
