Search Tips

Enter search word(s) or term(s) in one or more search fields. Begin by entering your term(s) in the Keyword field(s). If the search results are too high, then use the other search fields and the media options in the right column to narrow your search results.

Between the two Keyword search fields are three Boolean search term options: And, Or, Not. Use these buttons to control how the search engine combines the terms in the two Keyword search fields.

• AND - narrows results to only those which have BOTH terms
• OR - widens results to everything with EITHER term
• NOT - only results that include the first term but not the second

Use "quotation marks" around phrases to search for that exact phrase. Without them the search results will contain every record with the combined words and with each individual word.

In the search results, use the Filter Results options in the left column to narrow your search to specific subsets: media type, language, date range, available online, etc.
