Staff Sergeant Hector Robertin walks across Troung Minh Ky Street in front of the DASPO team villa located in Gia Dinh, a suburb of Saigon. Our address was 263 Troung Minh Ky. The villia served as our office and living quarters. The first floor housed office space for the N.C.O.I.C., living quarters for the team officer in charge, a dining room, and a kitchen. The 2nd floor served as office space/film viewing room and sleeping quarters. The 3rd floor housed sleeping quarters for enlisted men and a separate sleeping area for the team N.C.O.I.C.

The Operation Thayer II mission was to clear and pacify the Binh Dinh Province. From 6-7 February 1967, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division conducted search and destroy missions in and around the An Loa Valley. The terrain was known for its mountains and caves. During one of their mountain side searches, the unit captured three Viet Cong who were living and hiding inside a cave.
