A weekly report from the United States Operations Mission (USOM) Saigon on the 1965 Summer Youth Program (SYP) in Vietnam indicates that an attempt to send Saigon students of the SYP into rural areas was largely unsuccessful. However, projects have continued to develop, and student participation has increased. The report also covers SYP sponsorship, tour information for an SYP musical/cultural group (encouraged by American folk singer Steve Addis), and so on. Status indications for SYP province committees are included at the end of the report.
