English translations of the reports are done by a person by the name Van, though no further information is given. Reports are sent from Truong Binh village, Canton, and Thuan Thanh village. A biography of Vu Quoc Thong, Director of the National Institute of Administration in Saigon. Thong's biography was assembled in anticipation of his early-September 1958 visit to the campus of Michigan State University. Stanley K. Sheinbaum, Coordinator of the Vietnam Project, sent the biography to MSU President Hannah, and asks Hannah if the date of his luncheon with Thong could be moved ahead, as the director had moved up his date of departure from the U.S.
