Half a linear foot of museum objects donated to the archive by Gerald Linville. The ceramic ash tray and silver zippo lighter are both decorated with the USS Frank E. Evans crest and were purchased by the donor from the ship's store during his 1967-1968 tour on the ship. The USS Frank E. Evans DD-754 Messmen shirt was issued to him while he served on mess deck duty during the same tour.

Military payment certificates and Singapore currency, a U.S. Navy belt buckle, a Western Union telegram, a photocopy of naval orders, and newspaper and newspaper clippings document Richard Burke's tour of duty aboard the USS Frank E. Evans and the Evans' subsequent collision with the Australian aircraft carrier Melbourne . The newspapers include a run from Pacific Stars and Stripes, June 4-8, 1969 purchased by Burke in the Philippines. There are also newspapers from the United States from June 1969 and May 27, 2001. All of the newspapers chronicle the Frank E. Evans ' collision. The Western Union telegram was sent by Burke to his parents on June 8, 1969 stating that he was safe following the collision.

Evans from February 3, 1954 to September 25, 1945; a Muster Roll of the Crew for February 3, 1945; and a November 21, 1969 report from the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet to the Judge Advocate General on the 'Joint USN/RAN Investigation on collision of USS Frank E. Evans and HMAS Melbourne on 3 June 1969 donated to the Vietnam Archive by Michael O'Brien. Also included in the collection are letters written by O'Brien in 2001 to J. C. and Sylvia Campbell in which he describes his experiences while serving on board the U. S. S. Frank E. Evans in the 1940s.
