This series is broken into two sections. The first deals with technological developments such as helicopters, air power, riverine war technologies. The second deals with the subject of chemical and biological warfare including Agent Orange. This section cover the use of weapons systems during the Vietnam Conflict. The material is primarily secondary in nature with an emphasis on research and development. General subject headings include: use of airpower, helicopters, anti- aircraft technology, target selection for bombing and air strike missions, riverine warfare, electronic barriers, and technical intelligence. Also included in this section is information relating to chemical and biological warfare in Vietnam, specifically the use and effects of toxic agents for defoliation and crop destruction programs such as Agent Orange and the issue of 'yellow rain.' Finally, this section examines the Ho Chi Minh Trail and its use during the war.

Information on the protest movements in the US and abroad, the NLF/DRV response through the Dich Van programs, relations between the New Left and Hanoi and analysis of the movement by participants. This section contains information on the domestic and international war protest movement. Topics include the New Left (Students for a Democratic Society, the 'New Mobe,' American Peace Councils, and the Committee on Non-Violent Action) as well as campus protests, teach-ins, peace marches and anti-war demonstrations. Also included are interviews with prominent anti-war figures and accounts of their trips to Hanoi. There is also information on the activities of draft resister and the provision of foreign sanctuaries for deserters. There is material on the North Vietnamese response to anti-war activities and their evaluations (Dich Van or Action Among the Enemy Program). Also included are the anti-war activities of Lord Bertrand Russell and his 'War Crimes Trials' held in Stockholm.

U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One Hundred Twenty One (USN MCB-121) patch, Seabees T-shirt, and The Lake City Graphic, June 20, 2002, which contains a letter to the editor written by Tommy Carey titled, ^D<'City Should Honor It's War Hero.^D>' In the letter, Carey requests that Lake City, Minnesota honor Michael Joseph Glynn, one of its residents who was a Marine killed in Vietnam in February 1967.

Approximately eleven linear feet of personal and military documents from both the wartime and post-war periods, programs, newsletters, audio, periodicals, books, artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia documenting the actions of the Americal Division and reunions of the Americal Division Veterans Association. Included are materials dating from the 2004 Reno, Nevada reunion and the 2006 Portland, Oregon reunion. A sizable portion of the collection was donated by Leonid Kondratiuk. Donor Dr. Richard Burkes Verrone attended reunions on behalf of the Vietnam Center and Archive and included his nametag for the 2004 reunion and various other memorabilia.

The collection also includes a four disk DVD set consisting of a journal, audio clips, and documents that were presented at the Americal Division Albuquerque, New Mexico Reunion. It also includes a commemorative DVD honoring retired Lieutenant Colonel Charles S. Kettles (2 disc set).

The collection also includes a sizable compilation of Daily Staff Journals, After Action Reports, Combat Action Reports, and other S2/S3 Intelligence documents of various units and subunits of the 11th LIB, 196th LIB, and 198th BGE on the Battalion and Brigade level.

Approximately eleven linear feet of 164 three-quarter inch U-Matic video tapes of the television program, entitled 'Veterans Issues and Answers', documents an array of veteran's issues. The videos are placed in the order in which they aired, October 27, 1991 through May 31, 1999, and include titles such as 'N.J. Vietnam Veterans Memorial', 'N.J. Agent Orange Commission', 'National League of Families for POW/MIA's', 'Dedication of the Vietnam Women's Memorial', 'Agent Orange- The Silent Killer', 'Suing the CIA - The Abandonment of American POWs', and 'Men of the Intrepid'. The tapes are in poor condition and will be digitized to help for preservation.

The remainder of the film is Super 8 that was taken in Hawaii, Japan, Korea, and Micronesia. Caption sheets, which contain information regarding content, accompany individual reels of film.
