An unpublished autobiography documents Carolyn Hisako Tanaka's life before, during, and after the Vietnam War. The first couple of pages of her autobiography talk about Tanaka family tree. Chapter 1, 'Life in Guadalupe' begins by talking about Tanaka's Grandfather and his coming to America by way of Guadalupe, Mexico. Chapter 2, 'Internment' examines her family's time in an internment camp during WWII. Chapter 3, 'Edison High and Nursing School' talks about high school and Tanaka's decision to pursue nursing as a vocation. Chapter 4, 'Emergency Room Nursing' discusses Tanaka's experiences as an ER nurse. Chapter 5, 'Travels with Ann' explores Tanaka's decision to move to New York, and her travel experiences with her close friend Ann. Chapter 6, 'Army Nurse Corps' talks about her career as an Army Nurse in Vietnam, Chapter 7, 'Letters from Nam' talks about the letters that she sent back home, while Chapter 8, 'Head Nurse Talks' recollects her position as Head Nurse in Vietnam. Chapter 9, 'Life after Nam' discusses her Life after Vietnam, while Chapter 10, 'Nursing Administration' discusses her career as ER supervisor and other jobs she held in nursing administration after the war. Chapter 11, 'Vietnam Women's Memorial' details her involvement with this organization. Chapter 12, 'Volunteerism' talks her experiences as a volunteer. Chapter 13, 'Miracles Happen' discusses some of the memorable events in her life. Chapter 14, 'Writing Since Vietnam' shows samples of some of Tanaka's writings.

Photographs, audiotapes, and military memoranda document Phillip LaBranche's military service in Southeast Asia from 1968 to 1970. The 88 photographs include images from the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Detachment at Dong Ha (July-December 1968), NSA Da Nang Ammo Dump (1969), the Armed Forces Language School in Saigon (February-September 1970), and the Da Nang NSA base (December 1968-February 1970). Photographs documenting LaBlanche's stay at the U.S. Navy Detachment Compound at Dong Ha Combat Base (August or September 1968) include images of the Cua Viet River, Da Nang city and airbase, and Camp Tien Sha Annex barracks. Undated audiotapes include recordings of Armed Forces Vietnam Network (AFVN) radio broadcasts, music of the 1960s, and President Richard Nixon's resignation speech. The collection also contains two photocopies of military administrative documents: a 1968 letter of commendation following the USS Clarke County salvage operation and a letter of appreciation following LaBranche's participation in a firefight in August 1968.

Artifacts and a military report document the military service and death in North Vietnam in 1967 of Major Frederick Joseph Wozniak (US Air Force). Artifacts include an Air Force uniform dress coat and liner, two flight suits, a blue dress uniform, flight jacket, dress uniform insignia (Lieutenant's bars, U.S. pins, and wings), short white formal jacket, two caps, a beret, and three hats. The military report, published in November 2003 by the Joint POW / MIA Accounting Command and titled 'Casualty Data Report Case 0570, RF - 4C Crash Site, Ha Tay Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam,' documents the investigation of the disappearance of Major Wozniak over North Vietnam in 1967. It also documents the recovery and identification of his remains in 1995. The report also includes copies of documents relative to the case, photographs, maps, and explanations of and conclusions drawn from evidence collected at Wozniak's crash site. The report was given to the Wozniak family.

Film, audio, still image, artifacts, and manuscripts document Darryl Skuce's service and experiences on Swift Boats on the rivers and canals of South Vietnam from 1967 through his wounding on August 13, 1969. A narrative of Skuce's military biography describes his service in the United States Navy. Artifacts include a captured Viet Cong flag that was damaged when the crew of the boat Skuce was aboard detonated a mine in a canal. A photograph of the mine is included. A cassette tape contains common, every-day radio traffic from operations on PCF 43, which was destroyed in February 1969. Film footage shows Skuce's journey to Vietnam and what he saw from his position as a gunner on board PCF 71. Letters home from Skuce and an original poem describe how he felt during his service. Also included are six medals and service ribbons awarded to Skuce, including a Purple Heart for wounds he received while in action in August, 1969.

Military administrative documents, certificates, correspondence, audio tapes, slides, photographs, newspaper clippings and ephemera document the military service of Dale Moorman in the 1st Air Cavalry Division of the United States Army in Vietnam from July 1968 through May 1969. Administrative documents include Moorman's selective service draft notice and his DD-214 discharge record. Correspondence includes two letters between Moorman and his father and a letter of commendation to Moorman from his commanding officer. Certificates include acknowledgements of the Army Commendation Medal, the Bronze Star, and a Vietnam Combat Certificate from the 1st Cavalry Division. The audiotapes are recorded correspondence between Moorman and his parents in New Mexico. The slides and photos are images of Camp Evans, Phuc Vien, and Hong Kong.
