A North Vietnamese propaganda pamphlet left at Fire Base Mary Ann after it was overrun by the Viet Cong. Andrew Olints of D Company, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, picked this pamphlet up on March 28, 1971 when his unit arrived at Mary Ann the day after the base had been overrun. This collection includes a large amount of letters between Andrew Olints and his family members during his time in the Noncommissioned Officer Candidate Course (NCOC) School and in Vietnam from November 1969 to April 1971. The collection also includes a boonie hat with patches, a Seiko watch, rosary beads, and a metal necklace with pendants and a cross.

Approximately eleven linear feet of personal and military documents from both the wartime and post-war periods, programs, newsletters, audio, periodicals, books, artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia documenting the actions of the Americal Division and reunions of the Americal Division Veterans Association. Included are materials dating from the 2004 Reno, Nevada reunion and the 2006 Portland, Oregon reunion. A sizable portion of the collection was donated by Leonid Kondratiuk. Donor Dr. Richard Burkes Verrone attended reunions on behalf of the Vietnam Center and Archive and included his nametag for the 2004 reunion and various other memorabilia.

The collection also includes a four disk DVD set consisting of a journal, audio clips, and documents that were presented at the Americal Division Albuquerque, New Mexico Reunion. It also includes a commemorative DVD honoring retired Lieutenant Colonel Charles S. Kettles (2 disc set).

The collection also includes a sizable compilation of Daily Staff Journals, After Action Reports, Combat Action Reports, and other S2/S3 Intelligence documents of various units and subunits of the 11th LIB, 196th LIB, and 198th BGE on the Battalion and Brigade level.

DVD of Evan Sparks's 2011 student history project, a documentary "War At Home," donated by William Shugarts. One CD contains scans of a scrapbook detailing the activities of the 23rd supply and Transport Battalion of the 23rd infantry (Americal) Division from 1969-1970. It contains photographs, as well as newspaper clippings from Pacific stars and Stripes, Southern Cross, and the 23D Hour. The second CD is photographs of Bill Shugarts' trip to Vietnam in 2002.

The personal documents include typed transcripts of the letters he sent his parents during his time in Vietnam as well as stories he wrote about his experiences during his service. The letters date from August 1969 to July 1970. Military documents include Daily Staff Journals for the 4th Battalion 21st Infantry intermittently from September 6, 1969 through July 2, 1970, Battalion After Action Reports for August 1969 through July 1970, and G2 summaries. The service program is from the 11th Infantry Brigade Chapel in Duc Pho from September 28, 1969.

Also included in the collection are multiple volumes of 'Uncorrelated Information Relating to Missing Americans in Southeast Asia.'

Just over four linear feet of photographs, legal documents, correspondence, handwritten notes, printed materials, and military records document the My Lai incident (16 March 1968) and the subsequent investigation and trial of the participants of the incident by the Department of Defense in 1969. The materials are dated between 1956 and 1973, with the majority of the documents from 1968 to 1972, and are divided into the following categories: legal documents, correspondence, handwritten notes, printed materials, military records, and photographs.

Included in these documents are witness statements of many of the participants at My Lai, which formed the basis of evidence the U.S. Army used to indict Lieutenant William L. Calley, Jr. and others. Also included are legal documents of the court cases between the United States Government and members of Company C, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry and Department of the Army documents, which explain the procedures of the trial process in a military court of law during the Vietnam Conflict era.

The My Lai Collection has eighteen photographs taken by United States Army photographer Ronald Haeberle, some of which were subsequently published in Life magazine. Most of the pictures are quite graphic in their depiction of violence and should only be viewed by a mature audience. The remaining photographs were taken by Defense Department officials to document the My Lai investigation and other biographical information.

The James Evans collection includes military administrative documents, correspondence, original art, photographs, slides, negatives, newsletters and other memorabilia that document Dr. Evans service as a U.S. Army surgeon in Vietnam from October 1969-October 1970, first with 1st Battalion 77th Armor (Quang Tri) as battalion surgeon, and then with the 91st Evacuation Hospital (Chu Lai) where he worked in the emergency room and the outpatient medical clinics.
